Gopalakrishnan D is an M.Tech (Textile Chemistry), M.Sc (Costume Design & Fashion) and MBA (Technology Management) qualified Textile Technologist. He currently pursues his PhD in Textile Technology at Anna University, Chennai. Now he is working as Project staff at Department of Fashion Technology, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He has presented many papers & posters in various national & international conferences. 6 innovative projects in technical textiles and also has several technical articles published in national, international journals & Textile magazines to his credit. Prof. P Vinayagamurthi is the Head of Department of Costume Design and Fashion at Sri Jayendra Saraswathy College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. He has spent over 24 years in industrial experience includes garment pattern development and industrial engineering. He also has 12 years of experience in Academic. He currently pursues his PhD in Textile Technology at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has published 5 articles in National and 2 in International Journals to his credit and has presented 5 papers in National and 2 in International Conferences. He has organized and conducted international conference and many workshops.

About The Book

The textile industry is one of the oldest in India and is intrinsically linked to a range of traditions and cultures that is a reflection of the diversity that prevails in our country. One of the segments of this industry that has received significant attention across the world is technical textiles. Technical or engineered textiles are defined as products that are used for functional purposes. Based on usage, there are 12 technical textile segments; Agrotech,Meditech, Buildtech, Mobiltech, Clothtech, Oekotech, Geotech, Packtech, Hometech, Protech, Indutech and Sportech.
