Author Profile

Babu Lal Meena born in 18 July 1990. He qualified four UGC & CSIR-JRFs (including one RGNF) in Geography, Population Studies and Earth Sciences. His specialisation areas of study and research are Urban Geography, Population Studies, Environmental Studies and Heritage Tourism. He published four research papers and articles in International and national Journals of repute, three chapters published in edited books and more than 10 papers are presented in International and National Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. Presently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. under supervision of Prof. R. D. Gurjar, University of Rajasthan on 'Problems and Prospects of Heritage Tourism: A Case Study of Jaipur City'.

About The Book

The health is considered as one of the parameters of the level of social development in our society. A wealthy and happy community can be measured by the status of its health. The health challenges in marginal communities as tribals are huge and seemingly intractable. The health of tribal communities is determined by not only nurture but also by nature. It is the product of genetic and environmental factors. This book is the product of a field study that done in the entitled “Status of the Health of the People in selected Tribal Dominated Region” for the dissertation work of the degree of M. A. This book discusses the various dimensions of health, geographical aspect of health as social, climate and environment related effects, determinants of health and socio-economic conditions of family and community. The working-culture and living-nature are the two most important factors that not only decide but also determine the rural health. The study of the status of health in a tribal dominated village is done through the field based research methods and techniques. The field work is done in a tribal dominated village Haradi. The research methodologies that used in this study, make significant to this work for the future field studies. The study finds the wide gap of level of health between rich and poor families in this selected village. It also finds that different levels of health are also decided by social status of communities and families. This book explains the various inequalities related to health are based on sex, age, caste and economic status.
