Dr Desh Beer Singh after qualifying ARS started his career as Scientist from ICAR-CARI Port Blair, A & N Islands and there after he served as Scientist SS in ICAR-CIAH, Bikaner, Rajasthan, Senior Scientist in ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, Pr. Scientist in ICAR-CITH Srinagar, J&K and presently posted as Director, ICAR-CITH, Srinagar, J&K. He significantly contributed in development of high yielding varieties of temperate and tropical horticultural crops and developed various technologies on minimal processing of fruits and vegetables. Further he has obtained advanced training from USDA, USA in the field of conservation of plant genetic resources and from RAS, Moscow (Russia) in the field of post harvest management of horticultural produce. He has published more than 110 research papers and contributed 14 bulletins, 15 book chapters, 06 books besides 57 presentations in national and international conferences. Dr Om Chand Sharma after completing M.Sc. (Horticulture-Fruit Breeding and Genetic Resources) and Ph.D (Horticulture-Fruit Breeding and Genetic Resources) from Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. Dr Sharma presently working as Principal Scientist (Horticulture) at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar J&K. Most of work carried out is on selection of walnut and enrichment of germplasm at various places he served. He has worked on breeding and production aspects of various horticultural crops. He has published about 80 research papers in journals of national and international repute, 3 review papers, 1 book, 11 book chapters, 8 popular articles and 34 bulletins/ pamphlets for the benefit of researchers and farmers. Dr Javid Iqbal Mir is presently working as Scientist-ARS Biotechnology at ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar, J&K. He had his Master’s degree from CCSHAU, Hisar and Ph.D in Biotechnology from University of Kashmir, Srinagar. He created modern laboratory facilities at ICAR-CITH, Srinagar through various ad-hoc projects and published more than 70 research papers. He also published eight books, fifteen extension bulletins and more than 45 book chapters. Dr Mir has significantly contributing the administrative section of the Institute in capacity of Chairman DPAC, Nodal Officer IPR, PERMISNET, PIMS, CeRA, RFD, SAS, HYPM, etc. He organized many field days, conferences, meetings etc.
