Naveen Kumar obtained graduation (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) from College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Bhubaneswar, OUAT, Orissa and master’s (M.V.Sc.) with academic distinction in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology from Ranchi Veterinary College, BAU, Jharkhand. He started early career as a Teaching Personnel in Department of Veterinary Clinics, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar; then joined Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has published several research and popular articles in different journals. He has qualified ICAR-SRF (PGS) examination in the discipline of Veterinary Pharmacology. Later he was selected for Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi and currently pursuing Ph.D. in the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar.
He is a life member of professional societies including, Veterinary Council of India (VCI); Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ISVPT); Society of Toxicology (STOX), India and Indian Pharmacology Society (IPS).

The present book is spread over in twelve chapters viz. veterinary toxicology: an introduction, toxicity of agrochemicals, toxicology of mineral elements, toxicology of metals, toxicology of non-metals, residue toxicology, zootoxins, photosensitization and lathyrism, radiation hazard and toxicity, plant toxicology, plant toxicity, oxalate containing plants, mycotoxins, food and feed additives.
