Dr R S Mishra, Associate Professor (Senior Scale), Plant Pathology at N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad, U.P. He has more than 17 years experience in teaching and research. He obtained M.Sc. (Ag.) degree from Allahabad Agricultural Institute Allahabad and Ph.D. degree from Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi. Dr. Mishra had worked on Interactive effect of elevated CO2 and moisture stress on crop plants at IARI, New Delhi. He has been involved in research on Agro-meteorology and Agro-Advisory Services. He obtained training from CRIDA, Hyderabad, IITM, Pune and IARI, New Delhi on the different aspect of Agro meteorology and plant disease management. Dr. Mishra developed protocol for Mushroom cultivation and management practices of Coprinus spp. in paddy straw mushroom. Presently, Dr. Mishra is actively engaged in teaching and research of Vegetable and Spices Diseases. He has invited membership of New York Academy of Sciences. He has to his credit more than 80 publications including research papers, books, book chapter, manuals, and popular articles. Dr. Mishra has developed four varieties of Turmeric. He is the recipient of several Awards of professional Scientific Societies.

About The Book

The destructive potential of plant diseases in modern day agriculture has increased due to the use of cultivars having narrow genetic base over large areas. Correct disease diagnosis is the prime requirement for recommending preventive or curative measures for effective disease management. The present book deals with diseases of vegetable, spices and plantation crops through thirty chapters. This book has been written in concise form and efforts have been made to in corporate information on introduction to the disease, detailed description of disease symptoms, information on pathogen disease development and management of disease with recent development towards the integrated manner It is hoped that book will be useful to students, teachers, researchers of plant pathology, farm managers, progressive farmers and extension workers.
