Dr. Surendra Singh is working as Professor in the Department of Biological Science, Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur (M.P.), India. He has done M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany from Centre of Advanced Study in Botany, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Singh has more than 26 years of PG teaching and research experience. Dr. Singh has rare distinction to work in a Biotech Industry for about 4 years as Chief Technology Officer followed by Director Research and Development. Dr. Singh has published more than 45 research papers in National and International Journals of repute and contributed several Chapters in various books. He has participated and delivered lectures in several National and International Conference/ Seminar/ Symposium in India and Abroad. Presently Dr. Singh is Director, Distance Education; Director, UGC Community College; Director, University Institute of Vocational Studies & Skill Development; Chairman Board of Studies In Botany; Coordinator Career Guidance, Counselling, Training & Placement Cell; Nodal Officer, Skill Development Center in Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur.

Biodiversity includes different animals, plants, micro-organisms and their genes, water ecosystems, terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Conservation of this biological diversity which includes the variety of the whole species present on earth is important for our future, for human food to feed people on Earth.
