Author Profile
Dr. Hasan Khan did his Ph. D. in the discipline of Genetics and Plant Breeding during the year 2012 from GKVK, UAS, Bengaluru. He is presently working as Scientist (Plant Breeding), AICRP on Groundnut, MARS, UAS, Raichur.
Dr. Hasan Khan has significantly involving and contributing in the field of crop improvement. During his M.Sc. graduation he worked on Rice (Chemical Induction of Male Sterility), while his Ph. D. research on cowpea crop (Assessment of Morphological and Molecular Diversity and Genetics of Resistance to Bacterial leaf blight and Mosaic virus in Cowpea). When he joined at UAS, Raichur during 2011, he started working on Cotton improvement & collaborated for a varietal release, along with that he also involved in development of a Pigeon pea variety (in 2015). He started his work on Groundnut improvement during 2013 & to cater the immediate needs of farmers adopted a high yielding groundnut variety during 2015. Presently, he is focusing on development of high yielding foliar disease resistance groundnut varieties suitable Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
Dr. Hasan Khan received several fellowships during his school days as well as in higher studies and awards from the professional societies for contributions in the field of crop improvement. He has published more than 20 research articles in reputed National & International Journals. He also handled five projects (2 completed, 3 ongoing) with total outlay of more than 100.0 lakhs and financed by GoK, RKVY & BMFG through ICRISAT. Presently he has four M.Sc. students working under his chairmanship and serving as member of advisory committee for more than 15 P.G. students of UAS, Raichur.
