About The Book

Successful cultivation of horticultural crops is hampered due to the incidence of several insects, pests, diseases and nematodes. Horticultural crop protection plays a pivotal role in agricultural production. Plant diseases serious threats to cultivation of horticultural crops resulting in huge losses in their yields. During the past few decades, the science of horticultural crop protection has developed rapidly resulting in many diverse techniques to manage a variety of pests, pathogens and nematodes. In the present book, effort has been made to collect the information on various aspects of diseases and their management. The diseases of economic importance caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses and virus like organisms of horticultural crops are covered. The book deals with diseases of food crops, banana, bean, cabbage family, cassava, citrus, coconut, onion family, pandamus, passion fruit family, pawpaw, potato, pumpkin family, sweet potato, taro, tomato, capsicum, yam, other crops and fungi causing diseases of food plants.
