About The Book

Fruit crops may be deciduous. Fruit crops of temperate climates (apple, pear, cherry plum, plum) have a long winter dormancy. The characteristics of deciduous and evergreen crops determine the methods of cultivation to be used. Fruit trees need to be pruned on a regular basis to remain productive. Pruning should be done in the early spring when trees are still in dormant state. Regular pruning will assure a strong framework for the tree, so it can support a load of fruit. In addition, regular pruning keeps bearing trees productive, assure good airflow through the tree, and makes it easier to work in the tree. This book will be perfect for university libraries, teachers, researchers and fruit growers.
