Dr Gururaj Katti is working as Principal Scientist (Entomology) and Head (Crop Protection) at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR), Hyderabad. Dr Katti is actively involved in the All India Coordinated Rice Improvement Project as well as Lead Research Programmes of IIRR. He is also a resource person for Chemical Control and on farm IPM areas in all the IPM training programmes conducted by IIRR for state department and agricultural university personnel. Dr Anitha Kodaru, Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology), is working at ICAR-NBPGR, Regional Station, Hyderabad. She has been involved in quarantine processing of import and export crop germplasm, intercepted many quarantine pests and contained their entry and spread into India. She has published more than 70 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. She is presently holding the position of Chief Editor for Indian Journal of Plant Protection. Dr Nethi Somasekhar is currently working as Principal Scientist at ICAR-Indian Institute Rice Research, Hyderabad. His research is focused on entomopathogenic and plant parasitic nematodes of importance in agricultural crops like rice, sugarcane, etc. He has 22 years of research experience working in reputed Institutions in India and abroad. Dr G S Laha is currently working as Principal Scientist, Plant Pathology at ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad. He has been working on bacterial blight of rice for the last 15 years and is involved in identification of a new bacterial blight resistance gene, Xa33 and development of BB resistant rice variety ‘Improved Samba Mahsuri’. Dr B Sarath Babu, Principal Scientist, is presently holding the position of Officer-In-Charge at the ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Regional Station, Hyderabad. He is a plant quarantine scientist dealing with exchange of germplasm besides collection and evaluation against biotic stresses. Dr Babu worked as Editor and Chief Editor of prestigious science Journal “Indian Journal of Plant Protection” and presently the General Secretary of Plant Protection Association of India. Dr K S Varaprasad is the Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR), Hyderabad and the President, Plant Protection Association of India. He has more than 39 years of professional experience in plant quarantine, plant genetic resources management and oilseeds research. Dr Varaprasad authored over 73 publications including 7 books, 40 research papers, 20 review articles and book chapters and 6 technical bulletins.
