Dr. Biswajit Goswami is currently employed as Subject Matter Specialist in Fisheries Science of Dakshin Dinajpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, W.B., India. He did M.F.Sc. in Fishery Extension from WBUAFS, Kolkata and Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension from Visva Bharati University. He obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from IGNOU and Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management from MANAGE, Hyderabad. He was qualified NET examination in Fish and Fishery Sc. conducted by ASRB, ICAR. He has authored 4 books (International) in fishery extension and contributed chapters in four books. He published twenty four research papers in Indian and foreign journals.
Prof. (Dr.) Swapan Behari Mukhopadhyay is a retired Professor of Agricultural Extension from the Institute of Agriculture (Palli Siksha Bhavana) VISVA BHARATI. He is a person with long experience in Teaching, Research and Extension over more than forty years. He has also served North Bengal Campus, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, now Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya as the first Lecturer of Agril. Extension.
Prof. (Dr.) Shyam Sundar Dana is working as a Dean, Faculty of Fishery Sciences, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He did his M.V.Sc and Ph.D in Extension Education from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. Prof. Dana worked in various capacities as Scientist at ICAR and Professor and Head, Department of Fishery Extension, Faculty of Fishery Sciences, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He has published 36 research papers in Indian and Foreign journals and also published 8 books chapters in different books of Extension Education.
About The Book
The book is primarily meant for post graduate and Ph.D. studies in extension education, and is intended to serve as a resource book in Extension Education, Fishery, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Home Science, etc. in the Universities, Colleges and Institutes. It shall also serve as a hand book in the relevant Government Department, Banks, Research Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and NGOs, in respect of their extension work. Teachers, students, research workers, extension agents and administrators shall find the book very useful.
The book presents the behavioural changes in terms of social, economic, technological and psychological correlates of the fish farmers. The study concerning the attitude and adoption behaviour of the fish farmers towards scientific fish culture is likely to provide valuable information in developing suitable strategies for implementing future fishery extension programme more effectively. The book is expected to generate a data base about the existing practices being followed by the fish farmers of West Bengal in the field of fish culture.
