About The Book

However, it is not necessary that agricultural activities should lead to degradation of the natural resource base. In fact, agricultural practices that are focused on soil health and are in harmony with the ecosystem are sustainable in maintaining productivity at an enhanced level. Among the several practices used in diverse intensified production systems, especially in tropical agriculture, soil tillage and the lack of adequate organic matter input to the soil have a heavy toll in maintaining the integrity of the soil. Soil conservation is a set of management strategies for prevention of soil being eroded from the Earth’s surface or becoming chemically altered by overuse, acidification, salinization or other chemical soil contamination. In the future, as rDNA technology finds broader application, and the new prospects for this technology become commercial realities, the regulatory approaches to evaluating the safety of GM food crops are expected to evolve accordingly. The book has been written in a lucid style that provides depth knowledge agricultural technology.
