Author Profile

Dr. S. Ravi Kumar, had obtained his B.Sc. (Dairy Technology) in 1976, M.Sc. (Dairy Engg.) in 1981 and Ph.D in 1999 from NDRI, Karnal. He had joined APDDCF Ltd, in 1976. He continued to work as Dairy Manager, Marketing Manager at various places in Andhra Pradesh. He joined in 1988 as Associate Professor (Dairy Engg.)in the then APAU, (later changed to ANGRAU and SVVU), and was promoted as Professor of Dairy Engg., in 2001, after acquiring his Ph.D from NDRI. He was head of Dairy Technology Programme and later College of Dairy Technology from 2005 to 2012. During his career he held the posts as Assoc. Dean, Dean (Faculty of Dairy Science), Estate Officer and Member, Board of Management in the SV Veterinary University. Dr. B.M Manjunatha, Asst. Professor and Head, Dept of Dairy Engineering, College of Dairy Technology, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. He had his graduation in B.Tech (Dairy Technology) from UAS, Bengaluru and master's and Ph.D degrees in Dairy Engineering from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.

About The Book

The subject of Dairy Engineering being taught for the under graduate students of Dairy Technology, is a unique combination of both basic and applied engineering subjects. This text book gives the fundamentals along with the latest development in the dairy equipment manufacture and with diagrams that explicitly display the inner workings, well labelled, and meet the requirement of an introductory text book of dairy engineering. The focus had been on explaining the principles and design requirement of dairy equipment that are commonly used in establish dairy industries as well as in small-scale dairy manufacture establishments of indigenous dairy products.
