Author Profile

Dr. GJP Dixit, Assistant Librarian, completed a Master's degree in Library & Information Science in 2009 from Gulbarga University, Gulbarga and also completed a PDGLAN (Post-Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking from Hyderabad University in 2012. He cleared the KSET (Karnataka State Eligibility Test for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in 2013) and UGC-NET for Assistant Professor in Library & Information Science in 2014. He was awarded PhD in Library & Information Science from Bharathiar University Coimbatore in 2020. He has published ten research articles in national and international journals. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Librarian at Central Library, Central University of Karnataka Dr Suresh Jange, University Librarian & NAAC Coordinator, Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi, Karnataka has put up 26 years of experience. He served earlier at ETDC (Dept. of Electronics), Hyderabad, and Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He has completed Major Research Project funded by UGC on Development of e-content on traditional knowledge and folk wisdom of Hyderabad, Karnataka region. He published 120 research papers in Indian and foreign journals, festschrift volumes, conferences and he published five books and five edited books to his credit. Under his guidance, 12 Scholars received PhD & 18 M.Phil degrees. At Present, he is a Vice President of Indian Library Association and Government of Karnataka nominated as Chairman of State Level Book Selection Committee of the Department of Public Libraries, Ministry of Public Libraries, Government of Karnataka .

About The Book

This research work attempts to study Scientometric portrait of academic and research community covering Vice Chancellors and Academic Deans in Universities working in State and Central Universities of South India covering states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu as well as the union territories of Puducherry. This provides a new insight for data collection using Scopus Database, Web of Science Database, Indian Citation Index and Google Scholar citations. This book will serve as a model to the planners in the higher education system and enable the younger scientists to emulate and thereby improve the research output of the individual, institute being served and help the country in moving towards better accreditation in the context of NAAC, NBA, NIRF etc., ranking.
