About The Book
The present book contains classified and updated bibliographic information pertaining to 3555 citations / references, distributed over 30 Chapters, covering period from the year 1884 to early 2022. The citations are also referred to an elaborate Subject Index of this book. The bibliographic data is on wide fields of insect science or Entomology- general, economic and applied, besides allied sciences, covering mainly diversity, importance and management, with thrust areas as Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Himalayas of Indian Sub-continent. The citations encompass nearly all the fields of Entomology, viz., systematics of insect orders (23), distribution, ecology, development, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, toxicology, genetics, pest management / integrated pest management, vector entomology (medical and veterinary). Documents on pestology include insects as pests, harmful to animals, humans, plants, crops and stored products, besides industrial Entomology (sericulture, apiculture). A great number of references are also provided with annotations or key words. This book, undoubtedly, will cater to the growing needs of researchers as well as students, associated with multifarious fields of entomology, besides life sciences, agriculture, medical, veterinary, forestry, fishery and environmental sciences.
