Dr. A.S. Yarso, M. com. (Gold Medalist), Ph.D. is working as a faculty member in the Department of Commerce, Assam University, Silchar. He has the teaching experience of 20 years and has written two books, one solely authored and another one is co-authored. Dr. Yarso has completed 2 research projects and 21 research papers published in reputed journals and 5 research papers in different edited books; six research papers published in conference and seminar proceedings. He has also attended and presented 45 research papers in regional, national and international seminars and conferences. Four Ph.D. and four M.Phil scholars were awarded degree under his supervision.

About The Book

This book is an outcome of the ICSSR sponsored International Seminar on “Border Trade between India and Bordering Countries: Problems and Prospects” organised by Department of Commerce, Assam University, Silchar, during 2-3 March 2023, provides a thorough examination of the various complex aspects of Border trade in the Indian subcontinent. This edited collection consolidates a wide range of viewpoints, observations, and evaluations from academicians, professionals, and decision-makers who were extensively involved in comprehending the complexities of economic connections between India and its adjacent countries especially with Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Bhutan and Myanmar. This literary work also explores the complexities associated with the regulation of border trade, limitations in infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and geopolitical factors that impact trade dynamics, and also examines how historical legacies, trade agreements, and geopolitical concerns affect bilateral trade relations. It provides valuable insights into how regional economic integration is changing over time. Through this book our goal is to provide a detailed comprehension of the difficulties, possibilities, and possible approaches to improve the effectiveness of border trade processes in South Asia.
