The book “Aquaculture: Beyond 2000-New Horizons” is a documentation of Professor Hiralal Chaudhuri, the doyen aquaculture scientists; only a few of his publications were available to edit as most of his reprints, reports and unpublished works were donated to the library of the University of the Philippines. Some of his most important works on “Induced Breeding” of Carps have been documented Prof. Chaudhuri was given the epithet as ‘’The Father of Induced Breeding” which is well- known in the biological world. His monumental works on “Fish Seed Production” which is a remarkable piece of work also have been documented. It is said that owing to his research success supplemented by researches of fishery scientists Aquaculture has developed to become the fastest growing food producing sector in the world. He has expanded, diversified, intensified and technologically advanced this subject for which protein food production has increased. In fact it Revolution’ in this country where the poor who suffered from malnutition now get easy protein food.
