Amit Kumar Singh obtained his M.Sc. (Ag) Agronomy from Acharaya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.). He has qualified ARS (ICAR-NET) conducted by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi. Currently working as Block Technical Manager (BTM), ATMA, Paliganj, Patna. He worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna in research project sanctioned by Bill Gates Foundation, United States. He has vast experience in popularization of Agricultural farming techniques in the farmer field. He has published two books and number of research papers in national and international journals of repute and also organized/ participated various training programmes, seminars, symposia and workshops. Dr. Vinod Singh is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (UP). Dr. Singh has more than 32 years of experience in teaching, research and extension. He has published various research papers in journals of repute. He has written more than 13 books and successfully guided several M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Dr. Singh has been honored with Fellowship viz. Fellow International Society for Environmental Protection (FISEP) and Fellow Living World Society (FLWS) and he has delivered several talks on Radio and Doordarshan on different aspects of Agriculture.

About The Book

This book has been designed to cover undergraduate syllabus of Organic Farming as per ICAR 5th Deans Committee report. It covers the entire syllabus in one compact volume of 11 chapters viz. introduction of organic farming, principles of organic farming, concept of organic farming, certification, labelling and accreditation process, soil improvement and amendments, weed management in organic farming, organic manure, vermicompost, integrated disease and pest management, marketing and exports of organic products and biopesticides. Related terms have been provided at the end for the ready reference of readers. The present book has been recommended as a core subject in the curriculum of B.Sc. (Agriculture) course of the agricultural universities.
