Dr. A. Balasubramanian Professor and Head, Department of Fisheries Resource Management, College of Fishery Science, Muthukur, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Balasubramanian obtained his M.F.Sc., degree from Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Ph.D from Central Institute of Fisheries Education, ICAR, Mumbai, specialized in Fishing Gears and Fisheries Resource Management. He is Professor and Head, Department of Fisheries Resource Management, College of Fishery Science, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Muthukur, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, India. In addition, he served as Head of Research Station and College and University Head for the discipline of Fisheries Economics and Statistics and Academic Council member in the University. He teaches and guides the BFSc., MFSc., and Ph.D scholars in the discipline of Fisheries Resource Management at this Institute. He has published more than 30 research papers in National and International journals and 5 training manuals and one book as author and co-author. He published more than 20 scientific articles and few extension manuals and booklets. He is life member in various fisheries societies and bodies. Dr. TV Ramana Principal Scientist & Head, Fisheries Research Station, Kakinada (Former Dean of Fishery Science, SVVU), Dr. Ramana obtained his M.F.Sc., and Ph.D degree from College of Fisheries, Mangalore. He served in various capacities as Professor, University Head and Associate Dean and Dean of Fishery Science at Sri Venkatesawara Veterinary University, Tirupati. He was member of Peer Review Committee (PRT) of ICAR for accreditation of Fisheries Universities/Colleges. He served as one of the members in Andhra Pradesh state committee on constitution of fish feed and review of fish seed act. . He served as expert for various fisheries colleges and Academic council and syndicate member for the discipline of Fisheries Biology and Resource Management in Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Nagapattinam. He has been guiding master and PhD students in the discipline of Fisheries Resource Management. He has published more than 25 research papers in National and International journals and few training manuals as author and co-author. He published more than 10 scientific articles and few extension manuals and booklets.

About The Book

The book was prepared by compiling articles contributed by various experts from central fisheries institutes and state fisheries colleges. In this book, articles related to advanced methods being practiced in aquaculture were included. The edited book contains 15 number of Chapters covering, Coastal and Brackish water aquaculture, aquafarming systems in India, ornamental fish breeding, all male red tilapia production, culture and seed production of mud crab, shrimp, seabass, shrimps, polychaetes, groupers, pompano, micro algal production, cage culture, RAS, Bio-floc technology, Aquaponics and feed production. All these techniques are emphasizing advance cultures techniques in various aquatic animals.
