About The Book
The 'Handbook of Biotechnology' is a textbook that covers all the topics of the MSc./M.Tech Biotechnology course syllabus across various Universities in India. It is a compilation of major topics of biotechnology at a single platform and summarizes the matter in the form of capsule notes from examination point of view so that the student need not have to divert to different sources for each individual topic and get the course material in one single book. This unique text book covers most of the papers of biotechnology syllabus divided in twenty chapters which are taught throughout the semesters viz. biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, environmental biotechnology, plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, recombinant DNA technology, bioinformatics and biostatistics to name few. Moreover, it also covers application based topics which are present in syllabus as elective subjects viz. nanobiotechnogy, pharmaceutical biotechnology, stem cells, IPR etc. It is a text book beneficial mainly for postgraduate students pursuing their degrees in biotechnology but UG students may also be benefitted. Additionally, researchers of the biotechnology doctoral courses may also consult the same to brush up their basics to be applied for research Overall, in view of academic curriculum existing in various universities and institutions for biotechnology courses, the present compilation is appropriate and timely book to meet the requirements and interests of undergraduate and postgraduate students of biotechnology.
