Author Profile

A.B. Chaudhuri, presently a Consultant Ecologist was a member of Indian Forest Services. He served as Chief Co-ordinator, Pre-investment Survey of Forest Resources and thereafter as Director, Forest Survey of India, Government of India. He is the author of 25 books besides innumerable scientific papers. He has done more than 50 National and International assignments on Mangrove, Wildlife, and Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecology.

About The Book

The book aims at enumerating some important multi-faceted values and qualities of forests related to environment and interaction with man. The readers will have a clear conception of forest cover and various relevant issues relating to the density and vegetation related subjects. In fact all the thirteen chapters selected by the author pertain to his life-long observatons and studies.
