Dr. K. Prabakar, Director (CPPS) , TNAU, Coimbatore, Completed his, M.Sc.(Ag) during 1986 and joined as Assistant Professor (Plant Pathology) in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University during 1988. He is specialized in postharvest and seed pathology. He has teaching experience of more than 30 years. He handled classes for UG, PG and Ph.D. students. He has guided M.Sc. (Ag) and Ph.D. students of Plant Pathology and at present guiding Ph.D. students. He has received TNAU Best researcher award and Best book award from MASU apart from other awards. He has obtained externally funded projects worth more than 10 crores. He was a FAO Consultant for Afghanistan for setting up plant health inspectorate. He has also instrumental in the release of one betelvine and one sugarcane variety.
