The Central and State Fisheries Departments of India, along with their associated research and developmental wings, continuously thrive to promote and upgrade the status of fisheries and its supporting activities in the country. In this context, an array of policies and other measures as required are evolved and followed. In its 30 years of its publication (from April 1981 to March 2011), Fishing Chimes has had the opportunities of reviewing the aspects related to fisheries development of India during the aforesaid period, in the form of monthly editorials.
