Dr. Muthuchelian obtained his M.Sc. (Botany) with distinction from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai thereafter his Ph.D. in 1988 from the same University. He did his Postdoctoral Programme at the University of Ancona, ltaly. He was conferred with the prestigious Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in recognition of his accomplishment in research on Biomass Energy by Madurai Kamaraj University. Currently he is Professor and Head of the School of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. <BR> Prof.(Dr.)S. Kannaiyan, Chairman, National Biodiversity Authority, Chennai is Doctorate in Agriculture Microbiology. He was a post Doctral Fellow in the University of London, UK and also at Charles Kettering Research Institute, Yellowspring, Dayton, USA. After Serving as Visiting Scientist in the University of California , Davis, USA, he shifted his focus on research work to biofertilizers for rice production and scaled to the higher peaks as an international scientist of biofertilizers. <BR> Dr. A. Gopalam, Principal Scientist in Educational Psychology at National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad is Ph.D in Biochemistry and was awarded later an advance Diploma in Self Instructional Systems from Syracuse University, N.Y.

About The Book

On the eve of the twenty first century, the challenge for the global community is not to save biodiversity for its own sake, but to ensure that biodiversity is management and used sustainably and equitably for the human development.
