About The Book

The book includes 38 research articles on various aspects of Plant Science written by leading experts. The first eight articles are on microbial aspects and include microbial phytases, VAM fungi, screening of actinomycetes, soild state fermentation and rhizosphere bacteria. An article on conservation of Cycads is written by Goel from NBRI. There are five articles on fodder grasses from scientists of ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi. Medicinal Plants and ethnobotanical aspects are covered in about 10 articles. Other topics include morphogenesis of seven species of tobacco, effect of herbicide on yield in Cicer arietinum, proteases in Indian bean, Effect of pesticides on amylase activity, anatomical properties of Casuarinas equisetifolia and impact of environmental factors on gliding motility of oscillatoria. There is an article is on Biological disasters.
