T L S Samuel Moses is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Aquaculture, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Ponneri. He is having experimental knowledge in the field of fish genetics and breeding for 7 years. He is currently handling courses at UG & PG level in the specialization of fish genetics and breeding. He has published 7 research papers, 4 teaching/training manuals and organized 5 training programmes. He has completed 1 University research project and also involved in 3 externally funded research projects.
Dr S Felix, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam is having experience of more than 35 years in the area of fisheries and aquaculture in teaching, research, extension and administration. He has organized more than 20 Nos. of seminar/conference/symposium at National and International levels. Currently he is also the President (2018-19) of World Aquaculture Society, Asian Pacific Chapter and Chairman, ICAR's BSMA Committee (2018-19). He has more than 60 research papers published in National and International journals. He has authored more than 10 books and 25 manuals. He is specialized in the area of advanced systems in aquaculture and aquariculture such as raceway, biofloc technology, RAS, etc,. He has operated around 20 externally funded research projects.

This book deals with the various practical problems on concepts based on Mendalian genetics such as monohybrid cross, incompletely dominant genes, lethal genes, dihybrid cross, heterosis in fish breeding, sex determination, inbreeding and effective breeding number, selection and heritability and gene and genotype frequency are given with solution and answers. It is also provides detailed protocol with explanation is also given for induction of Triploidy in fishes, Induction of Gynogenesis in fishes, Preparation of metaphase chromosomes from fish tissues, chromosome preparation from embryos, Cryopreservation of fish sperm and checking the fish sperm motility.
