About The Book
Present work is an attempt to highlight the diseases and disorders of cotton crop of global importance. The problems incited by bacteria, fungi and viruses have critically been described, clarifying the symptoms, means of perpetuation to target the weakest point of pathogens, preventive and curative measures to minimize the extent of damage, in addition to detailed information on common nonparasitic disorders, though nondescript but important. Approach for diagnosis of problem, being the most important aspect, has properly been suggested in step wise manner observing the nature of damage in field and to a particular plant and signs of pathogens. A practical approach to control the diseases has been incorporated to justify the title of work as ‘diagnosis and control’. The model for integrated disease management (IDM) is a unique proposition advocating the use of old farming techniques, nonchemical means and need base chemicals at appropriate crop stage. <BR> The book would be of immense utility for researchers and field workers associated with production of this valuable crop.
