Dr. M.K. Sheikh born on 1st January 1952 at Bijapur, Karnataka, did his B. Sc. (Agri) M.Sc.(Agri) Ph. D. from UAS Bangalore & UAS Dharwad. He served for two years in Saudi Arabia in Ministry Of Commerce Jeddah. During 1982 he joined University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore. He worked in the capacity of Research Assistant/ Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor. Now he is Professor & Head, Department of Horticulture College of Agriculture Bijapur. He participated in 1st International Symposium on Pomegranate & Minor Fruits at Cuckurova University, Adana, Turkey. He visited South Africa, Israel and Spain. He guided number of PG students. He published books on Grape and Pomegranate in Kannada and English. He published Research Papers and popular articles in National and International Journal. He organized 2nd International Symposium on Pomegranate and Minor Fruits during 2009 at UAS, Dharwad, Karnataka, India as Organising Secretary, for this he has been awarded gold medal ISHS Belgium. He has been awarded a fellowship of the year NESA-2008 and FAHS. <BR> Dr. N. Manjula, completed B.Sc. (Ag. Maco), M.Sc. (Ag. Extn.) and Ph.D. from UAS, Bangalore. She has eighteen years of experience in Teaching, Research and Extension. She has made significant contribution in preparing number of laboratory manuals. She has more than 100 publications to her credit. She has also brought out two extension folders and six books both in English and Kannada. Guided PG students and served as Staff Adviser, also worked as RAWE Coordinator. In her distinguished service she served in various capacities as Extension Guide, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and presently as Professor and Head, Department of Agril. Extension Education, College of Agriculture, Bijapur (Karnataka) under the UAS, Dharwad. She is also nominated as Member of Board of Studies (FA) of UAS, Dharwad. She has been awarded a fellowship of the year NESA-2009 and FAHS. <BR> Dr. S.R. Mulla, completed B.Sc. (Agri) and M.Sc. (Agri.) from UAS, Dharwad. He has ten years of experience in Teaching and Research. He worked in the capacity of Jr. Merit Associate/Research Associate at Bijapur campus, UAS Dharwad. Now he is Assistant Professor, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. He published books on viz., Beekeeping and Aerophonics, also he published 13 research papers, 20 popular articles, 8 extension leaflets; He has made significant contribution in preparing of laboratory manuals and annual reports and he has been awarded Choudhary Devilal outstanding contribution in dryland agriculture during 2009-10 (By : ICAR, New Delhi).
