"Dr. J. V. Patil obtained his M.Sc (Agri) from, MPKV, Rahuri. He completed his course work for Ph.D. at CCSHAU, Hisar and research at MPKV, Rahuri in 1992. He rendered his research and teaching services at MPKV Rahuri as Geneticist, Associate Professor, Plant breeder and Professor of Genetics & Plant Breeding and Head, Genetics and Plant Breeding Department, MPKV, Rahuri (Maharashttra). He also delivered many administrative responsibilities in the university. Dr. Patil joined as the Director, Directorate of Sorghum Research, Hyderabad in August 2010. <BR> Dr J S Mishra has obtained his M Sc (Ag) from NDUAT, Faizabad and Ph D (Agronomy) from JNKVV, Jabalpur. He started his career as Scientist in Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in 1991, and served for 18 years in the Directorate of Weed Science Research (DWSR), Jabalpur in various positions. He moved to the Directorate of Sorghum Research, Hyderabad in 2008 as Principal Scientist (Agronomy). <BR> "
About The Book
Sorghum is one of the five important cereal crops of the world and cultivated by millions in the semi-arid tropics for food and animal fodder. In addition to high yielding cultivars, crop and soil management plays a major role in sorghum cultivation.
