Dr. Amita Saxena Professor in College of Fisheries Sciences at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India has been awarded as an outstanding woman of 20th century award (America). She formulated feed for air breathing and ornamental fishes/organisms/other aquatic. Her debut in pearl culture in Uttrakhand (Hill State) is praise worthy and remarkable. She is crowned with young scientist award, several fellowship/gold medals and Bharat Jyoti/Vijay Shri award. She transferred the fisheries technologies to the farmers through visits, lectures, radio and TV talks. Nowadays she is busy in improving the rural economy of poor people through fisheries and other small scale ventures.

The book describes the Government policies and Acts for agriculture and its allied fisheries sector. Most of the farmers combine fisheries with crops, vegetables and livestocks to earn more money.
