Dr. Arti Sharma a Research Associate in national agricultural innovation project component-III , Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, J&K. She has obtained her Ph.D (Agricultural Economics) from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. <BR> Dr. Jyoti Kachroo post graduated (Economics) from University of Jammu, Jammu. During her M.Phil. and Ph.D studies, she worked on “Critical Appraisal on New Agricultural Strategy” and “Impact of New Agricultural Strategy on the Economic and Social Conditions of Rural Women”, respectively. Presently she is a Professor (Agril. Economics) and Coordinator, School of Agri-Business Management in SKUAST-Jammu. <BR> Dr. Anil Bhat has obtained Ph.D. (Agril. Economics) from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. He also holds the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development and Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Marketing. Dr. Bhat is presently working as Assistant Professor (Agricultural Economics) in Division of Agricultural Economics & Statistics, FoA, Chatha, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (J&K).

About The Book

The book “Economic Efficiency of Maize Production in Jammu Region of J & K State” provides an overview of the maize production in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in general and sampled districts of Jammu region in particular. The book is designed to throw some new light on the various aspects of status of maize production, Instability in Maize Crop Cultivation, Decomposition, Economics and Impact of Improved Maize Technology, Resource-use Efficiency, Allocative Efficiency, Technical Efficiency, Factors Affecting on Technical Efficiency, costs and returns of maize and Socio-economic Constraints faced by Farmers for growing the Maize crop. In addition, the book provides theory of Production Function and Economic Efficiency. As a case study of maize production in the Jammu region of J&K State, the book provides empirical information about economical analysis of maize crop and is based on the secondary data as well as primary data and factual position prevailing in the farmers field.
