Prof. (Dr.) K. Dhevendaran is a marine biologist and the first Scientist in India who received the D.Sc., degree in Marine Microbiology from Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram during 2001. Presently working as Professor in the Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.
