D (Agri) in Horticulture, Professor of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Maharashtra has rich experience of 25 years in Teaching, Research and Extension in Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Ornamental Gardening and General Horticulture. He has so far guided 18 M. Sc., 2 Ph. D. students in Vegetable Science, Fruit Science and Postharvest Management in Horticultural Crops as a Research Guide and Chairman and 50 PG students as a Member of Advisory Committee. He is a member of 5 professional societies. He has so far published 35 research articles in International and National journal of repute and written 4 books and compiled 10 practical manuals for UG degree programme, 26 conference/ technical papers at State and National level and International level and 35 popular articles. Prof. Haldavanekar is a Co-chairman of several activities related to education, field development, University campus beautification and corporate life management activities for enhancement of student welfare.
Prof. Yogesh Parulekar (1971). M.Sc. (Agri.) in Horticulture, Assistant Professor, College of Agriculture, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, (Maharashtra) has experience of more than 18 years in Teaching, Research and Extension in field of Horticulture especially in vegetable and fruits. He was awarded Gold Medal during his M.Sc. degree Programme. He is recognized P.G. teacher of University and so far guided 6 M.Sc. students as Chairman and more than 15 students as Member of Advisory Committee. He has published more than 15 research articles in National and International journals, 18 conference/ technical papers at State and National level and International level and 25 popular articles, written two books, two book chapters and more than 10 technical bulletins. He is also working as PI and Co-PI of externally funded projects.
Dr. Prafulla Mali (1975). M. Sc. (Agri.), Ph. D in Horticulture, Associate Professor of Horticulture, College of Horticulture, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, (Maharashtra) has very good academic career. Experience of 14 years in Teaching, Research and Extension in Vegetable Science and General Horticulture. He has so far guided 9 M. Sc. students in Vegetable Science and 13 PG students as Member of Advisory Committee. Member of 2 professional societies. Published 11 research articles in National journals, 9 conference papers at State and National level and one paper at International level, 1 text book, 4 chapters in subject books and 15 popular articles.
Dr. Parag Haldankar (1963) M. Sc. (Agri.), Ph. D (Agri) in, Horticulture, Head, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli (Maharashtra) has extensive experience of 25 years in Teaching, Research and Extension in Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Ornamental Gardening and General Horticulture. He has so far guided 15 M. Sc., 3 Ph. D. students in Fruit Science and Postharvest Management in Horticultural crops and Vegetable Science as a Research Guide and Chairman and 30 PG students as a Member of Advisory Committee. He has contributed significantly in developing more than 40 technologies related to propagation, cropping system and value addition. He is a member of several professional societies as well as member of SAC and RAC of several Research Institutions. He has so far published 80 research articles in International and National journal of repute and written 4 books and 60 conference/ technical papers at State, National level and International level and more than 50 popular articles. He has worked as PI and Co – PI of several externally funded projects and three multidisciplinary and multi institutional projects. He is a winner of several awards in field of Horticulture and also honored as Fellow of Horticulture Society during 2012.

This book entitled 'Vegetables - Production Technology' includes update general information on area, production, export, improved varieties as well as production technologies of more than 71 vegetables. The book includes various chapters as introduction, vegetable classification, types of vegetable farming, cultivation of Solanaceous vegetables, cucurbits, okra, legume vegetables, Cole crops, bulb crops, root crops, potato, tuber crops, leaf vegetable production including under exploited vegetables in order to provide all information at one place. Unique feature of this book lay on more than 140 coloured photographs related to different vegetable crops, physiological disorders, pests and diseases of different vegetable crops.
