Dr. Nandakumar Kute (b. 1964) obtained B. Sc. (Ag.) from Dr. PDKV, Akola with distinction, M. Sc. (Ag.) and Ph. D. in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri with first class and distinction, respectively. He has 25 years of research and teaching experience in various capacities. He is associated in the development of four crop varieties in Mungbean (Vaibhav), Pigeonpea (Vipula), Chickpea (Digvijay) and Grain Amaranthus (Phule Kartiki). He guided eight M.Sc. (Ag.) and five Ph.D students. He has taught Principles of Plant Breeding, Principles of Quantitative Genetics, Heterosis Breeding and Improvement of Field Crops for twelve years to PG students. He published fifty three research papers in reputed scientific journals and co-author for one textbook. He has qualified ASRB NET in Plant Breeding during 2004. Dr. Kute presently working as a Associate Professor of Botany at Department of Botany, MPKV, Rahuri, Dist: Ahmednagar (MS).
Dr. Gorakshanath Shinde (b. 1963) obtained B.Sc.(Agri.), M.Sc. (Agri.) and Ph.D. in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, with distinction. He has 27 years experience of research in Genetics and Plant Breeding. He has been associated with development of 11 crop varieties which include pearl millet, cotton, hybrid napier and marvel grass. He has also been involved in teaching of Ph.D & postgraduate courses viz., Advance Biometrical and Quantitative Genetics and Principles of Quantitative Genetics. He has published over 40 scientific papers/articles in national and international journals of repute. Currently, he is working as Sr. Research Assistant at Grass Breeding Scheme, MPKV, Rahuri (MS).
About The Book
The book entitled “Principles of Biometrical Genetics” is prepared to serve as a text book for M.Sc. (Ag.) students. The book is written in simple language and even complex terms have been reduced for easy understanding.
