Author Profile
Dr. Subhash Chand working as an Assistant Professor of Soil Science at FOA Wadura Campus, Sopore, of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir Shalimar, Srinagar since 2005. He is member of Editorial Boards of Several Scientific Journals and has published papers in scientific and technical journals. He is also a member of five Scientific Societies including Indian Science Congress Association Kolkata, Soil Conservation Society of India and Indian Society of Soil Science.
Sartaj Ahmad Wani received his B. Sc. (Ag.) Hons. Degree in 2010 and M. Sc (Ag.) in Soil Science in 2012 from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir Shalimar, Srinagar, respectively. Currently he is enrolled for Doctoral research in Soil Science in university. He has published a few papers in some good journals.

This book is an account of introduction, principles, different practices, recent advances related to organic farming. A comprehensive reviews on benefits and limitations of organic farming as carried out by various research workers have been discussed in detail. The biomass energy is having great potential in the scenario of scarcity of energy. Soil organic matter is an important factor in restoring soil fertility. An increase in the soil fertility has a direct relationship with socioeconomic conditions of farmers, vegetable growers and orchardists. A healthy soil is always responsible for production of quality grains and fruits hence there is an urgent need to maintain for management of soil health.
